Aya Mingazova  was born in Central Asia, Turkmenistan. Being a very shy child, little Aya spent all day long not with friends, but with paints and pencils, drawing and painting.

Once, when Aya was 11 years old, a local respected artist came to their house. When he saw the drawings of the young girl, he was stunned, saying that she had an extraordinary talent for painting, which should be developed. So little Aya found out that she had a God-given gift. 

In 2021 Aya moved to Hong Kong with her family and is currently working on a series of paintings inspired by her move, the diversity of Asian culture and beauty, and parting from her homeland. Living through the difficulties and joys, the admiration of the new path, she puts her thoughts, experiences, goals, and realizations into her paintings.

Aya loves the mixmedia technique, using acrylic, texture paste, and oil paints in her work. She gets deep visual effects by layering one layer on another. She believes that the very process of working on a painting has an extraordinary depth. Her paintings evoke the emotions and feelings of the viewer.
